Depart for your Golden Circle Captured tour from Reykjavik at 8:00am. Your guide will pick you up from your hotel and start your adventure towards Iceland’s famous Golden Circle.
Thingvellir National Park
Our first stop takes us to the historic Thingvellir National Park, the birthplace of Icelandic democracy. Here, you will walk between the continental plates that separate Europe and North America, witness the power of Öxarárfoss waterfall, and marvel at the serene beauty of Iceland’s largest natural lake, Thingvallavatn.
Our second stop brings us to the mesmerizing Geysir geothermal area. Here, you can witness the earth’s incredible power as boiling water and steam erupt from the ground in mesmerizing displays. We will have our camera ready to capture you next to the famous Strokkur geyser which erupts every 4-10 minutes.
Here, we will also make a 30-40 minute lunch stop at the Geysir Centre across the street which serves a la carte hot food as well as a variety of sandwiches and beverages.
Next, on your Golden Circle Captured adventure, we go to Gullfoss Waterfall, also known as the “Golden Waterfall”. Plunging 32 meters into a rugged canyon, It is one of Iceland’s most iconic natural wonders as well as the second most powerful waterfall in the country. You will be able to witness the cascading water from a series of observation decks and trails that wind their way around the falls, providing panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
Hike to Bruarfoss Waterfall
You will finish your Golden Circle Captured adventure with a hike to Bruarfoss waterfall, a hidden gem located in a lesser-known area of the Golden Circle. This 2-hour roundtrip hike takes you along a stunning glacial river on easy and mostly flat terrain the entire way. Note that some areas of the trail can be very muddy or rocky so hiking boots are recommended to bring or to rent from us.
The reward at the end is a stunning blue waterfall cascading into a tranquil pool below that is unlike any other waterfall that you will ever see. This will put the finishing touches on an already fantastic day along the Golden Circle!
Throughout the tour, your photographer will capture the beauty of the landscapes and the memories of your trip, so you can relax and enjoy the sights without worrying about taking photos. At the end of the journey, you will receive an edited photo package as a keepsake of your Golden Circle adventure within 14 days.
