Overview

On Day 1, embark on a scenic drive around Hvalfjörður, taking in breathtaking fjord views before hiking to the impressive Glymur Waterfall. Conclude the day with a relaxing wine tasting and a luxurious overnight stay. Day 2 offers a serene visit to the Hvammsvík Hot Springs, where you can unwind in natural geothermal pools, followed by a visit to a local farm to experience Icelandic culture and meet the friendly locals.

Hvalfjörður Fjord View

Driving along the fjord offers incredible views of mountains, coastal cliffs, and tranquil waters. Along the shoreline, you can find secluded spots to picnic or hike, all with beautiful panoramic views. The fjord is long and deep, with fewer visitors than other areas, making it a peaceful escape.

The Botnsdalur Valley

This valley at the end of Hvalfjörður is a haven of beauty with green meadows, rivers, and mountain peaks. It’s a great place for hiking and exploring Icelandic flora and fauna. Botnsdalur Valley also serves as the starting point for the Glymur waterfall hike and offers a serene landscape of its own.

Glymur Waterfall

At 198 meters, Glymur is Iceland’s second-tallest waterfall and is a breathtaking sight tucked away in Hvalfjörður. The hike to reach it is rewarding, with panoramic views of the fjord, a scenic river, and a narrow canyon. The trail takes you through caves and over rivers, offering an immersive experience of Icelandic nature.

The hike into Glymur Waterfall is rated as easy with little elevation and the hike up is rated as moderate with an elevation gain of 200 meters.
Lunch and Dinner are not included in the price of this tour unless stated.
Pickup and Drop off are exclusively from the greater Reykjavik Area.
The length of each day and order that you visit these attractions can vary depending on weather and road conditions.

 Verified Julian and our private tour were incredible! Truly the most incredible experience! Julian was our guide and photographer for the all day glacier hike, diamond beach, and lagoon tour. He truly made the experience for us! His knowledge, photography skills and overall demeanor were unmatched! In addition he made us feel extremely safe during the glacier hike. We did the entire ring road during our stay in Iceland and went on several tours. Although they were all great, this one was by far our favorite. Book it, you won’t regret it!

 Verified Julien gave us the best once in a lifetime adventure! Couldn’t have asked for a better tour guide than Julien! We were so lucky to be the only 2 people on the glacier hike, diamond beach, and glacier lagoon because we got his full attention! He’s not only incredibly knowledgeable, but he made the whole day really comfortable and honestly the best guided tour I’ve gone on. I’ve been to a lot of countries and done many tours and I can definitely say it was my fav! Jaw dropping scenery at every turn, great pictures, and a ton of laughs as well.  Verified Ask for Krzysztof! Wonderful tour! We had originally booked the zip line but they called me a few days prior to let me know the zip line would not be operating this week due to something about the national park. We changed the tour to the early bird ice cave tour instead and we were so happy with it. The ice cave was neat and beautiful, even though it’s nearing the end of the season when it can often be dirty and not as nice. Krzysztof was AMAZING! He was so upbeat and excited to show us the cave, and he was very helpful when it came to posing/choosing photo spots. We could not have had a better experience with another guide.  Verified Great cave and glacier hike with small group sizes! Our guide, Julien, was excellent. After a short 4x4 ride to the starting spot, he took us along the glacier to a bowl that we climbed into. The scenery was amazing. We went into a few caves. Had a great time!

There was 4 of us on the tour, plus our guide, Claudia, who was a true expert! We managed to avoid the crowds, saw everything we wanted to, and even hiked further than the typical tour! Claudia was extremely knowledgeable, engaging and interesting! 10:10!! Highly recommend.
